Zoonotic diseases pose a major threat to global health and economies. By investigating novel vaccine platforms, I aim to reduce the cost of immunizations, develop vaccines for neglected diseases, and bring vaccines to underserved or underdeveloped regions around the world. My initial focus is on a vaccine to prevent Johne’s disease, an infection of ruminants and major burden on animal production globally caused by a persistent intracellular mycobacterial pathogen.
